I’d just like to recommend Mark Spencer’s latest paid-for tutorial Mastering Motion’s Camera. Up till now I’ve largely stuck to fairly basic camera moves because if I tried anything more complex, something would either not work the way I expected or I would get horribly lost in 3D space (or both) and frustration would take over, but this tutorial package has been a major help.

The biggest boon for me is that it’s the first Motion tutorial I’ve come across that breaks down the steps involved in building the type of “continuously developing” 3D animation where objects in each scene start heading off out of the frame, drawing your eye and motivating the camera to move and catch up with them in a new scene. This is obviously a very “now” style of 3D animation but I’ve not seen it formally covered in any previous Motion camera tutorials, which have usually been about the camera moving from one independent set to another.

    Thanks Mark 🙂
