Hello, all. I have a lavelier that I plug directly into my camcorder. I have a problem in some locations, though, of it picking up radio stations. Is there something I can do? Some filter I can install?

    Thank you!

No not really. You have a location problem. If you were using a wireless system you could scan for a clear frequency but you don’t have that choice with a hard wired lav into the camera.

Hello Norm and welome to the Cow Audio Forum.

I assume your lav is unbalanced. For you and other readers that may stumble on this thread, this is precisely why balanced audio connections are preferred. They are much better at rejecting rf than unbalanced connections.

You might try some of those clamp on rf supressors on the mic cable, but no guarantees there.

If you do, please come back and let us know if or how well they work.

Hi, You could try looping the audio cable through a ferrite ring to reduce the effects of RF pickup.
