    Hi all:

I am off to shoot a documentary to the middle of nowhere in Scotland using a digiBeta camera for two and a half weeks. Deadline is massivily tight to get this documentary done and might not have the time to online properly in an adrenaline. Thinking in streching my 250Gig drive to its full potential. Has anyone managed to digitise any SDI footage into Xpress pro? Is it possible to have DigiBeta footage in Xpress pro? How many streams? Any workarounds to get SDI into Xpress pro? The program will be 45 minute long.

Might be really dumb question but….

    Thanks

    Sam

I’m jealous. I love Scotland. Especially in the middle of nowhere.

Anyway, dub your footage down. It’s going to suffer the signal loss by going to Xpress Pro anyway. No time? Get a D/A converter.

Digitize 1:1 on Adrenaline or Nitris and move the media into Xpress Pro. No other way to do it.

Thanks guys. Ideally I need something that we can take with us, so that we can edit on the move as we go along as the deadline is so, so tight. I would like to keep as much picture quality as possible, that’s why they gave us DigiBeta so unless there is no other workaround I wouldn’t want to go other route than SDI.

Aren’t there any I/O cards that work with Avid? I know Avid is a close system, but I am sure there must be someone who’s been in a similar situation than us and has worked out a way to ingest SDI…. I might as well be wrong

Otherwise we will go FCP I think….

    Any successful stories?

    Cheers

Wanna try tapeless? You could get a Firestore drive.
