Mettle Skybox Studio Extractor not working as expected
I recently purchased Skybox Studio. the Extractor script is not working as expected.
My expectation is that I should be able to bring in an equirectangular image, create a comp of just that image, then run extractor and it should set up a scene for me similar to the Skybox Creator script only with my image used as the background skybox.
When I run the script, instead of it creating the multiple comps like it does in the tutorial video, it only creates 1 comp and one null object in the solids folder. the comp is only 1×1 pixels.
Im guessing this is some sort of error of script being unable to get the settings from my comp, then bailing out halfway through but with out any handy error handling.
Has anyone gotten this script to work? If so, what size comp did they run it on?

I was playing around with the demo download and ran into the SAME problem.
Apparently it only works when your 360 footage is at a resolution of 4096×2048??
I’ve emailed them about it, and am awaiting a reply. -
Apologies for the late reply. Not sure why I am not getting notifications for the COW about 360, VR or SkyBox related issues ☹
1) Please make sure you have the latest demo version from our site.
2) Make sure you watch a few tutorials on our site. Extractor may not be the best approach… there may ways to create 360/VR content with SkyBox products… including SkyBox Creator, SkyBox Composer, SkyBox Extractor, SkyBox Project 2D etc.
Make sure you are working on footage that adheres to industry norms for 360/VR production… this is very important as our products are optimized for the formats.
i.e. 4K Mono 2:1 Equirectangular etc.
Or 4K Stereo 1:1 Over Under…If all fails then please file support ticket with us on our site and we will do everyting in our power to help.
