  Metadata carryover to Avid

  i All,

  I scanned the posts in this forum but didn’t see an answer to this, apologies if it has already been asked.

  So, here’s my question. I’m getting footage in from a Canon XF305 and viewing clips in Canon XF utility. In the utility there is an option to add metadata to a clip which would be extremely helpful to my workflow…only problem is, the added metadata does not carry over when the clip is then imported into Avid….what’s up with that? Seems like a pretty useless function if that data is not able to carry over into Avid or FCP, So i have to believe I’m missing something! Anyone have any ideas?

  FYI: We have also tried adding metadata via the camera (instead of the utility) still, no dice.
