okay, I have some text that I want to move in an interesting way. The text will be pouring out of someone’s mouth in kind of an arching way and become distorted.

None of the presets seem to do what I want. I was thinking of using mesh warp, but that only allows you to warp the layer in a fixed position…if that makes sense.

Imagine an invisible glass bottle and the word being pushed through it and distorting as it goes.

    Hopefully that makes sense

Text animated on a path and DE_FreeForm if you have CS5.

Or text animated on a path with an adjustment layer on top that has Mesh Warp setup to distort the text as it moves in. You could also precomp the animated text on a path and apply the distortion on that precomp- this way you do not need to render the text separately and then comp it on the person, but it’s less easy to animate and distort.

Sorry to just now get back to this.

Thanks Ted! Applying a mesh warp to an adjustment layer gave me just the kind of control I wanted. No idea you could apply that effect to an adjustment layer. Thanks a ton
