    Hi everyone,

If anyone can shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it….

I have rendered a quicktime using the meridian codec at 601 color space for an avid. Upon importing it, the editor is saying that the blacks looked crushed and the level is illegal.

When looking at the file with color finesse, everything appears to have legal levels.

Does anyone know what to do?

    Thanks in advance.

Check your import settings in Avid to be sure that “rgb” is not checked…it should be set to 601.

The best way to export Meridien for Avid is to NOT use 601. Leave it RGB, and Avid should automatically interpret it correctly.

For now do what the above poster suggests – have the editor switch it in the Avid.
