  Merge paths?

  I’m hoping this is so easy, I just don’t get it. I have an eps file that has several groupings of paths. I’d like to copy and paste each group as a ‘single’ path into After Effects. How do I do this? I’ve tried joining points and making a compound path, but one doesn’t work and the other still pastes ‘all’ the seperate paths of the group into AE.
