  • menu buttons to select individual movies: Vegas/DVDA

Hello I hope this subject has not recently been mentioned as this is my first post.

How do i produce a Menu that has buttons that when selected go straight to any particular part of a movie track and then finish (without going on to the next) or to the start of individual movies and then finish.
Have not been able to do this comparitively simple task yet have had no other problems. I have Sony Vegas Pro 8 and DVDA 4.5

    thanks Ev

    1) add the movie more than once – for each section you wish to play
    2) rename the individual movies /chapters accordingly
    3) for each instance of the movie, double click it to bring up the timeline, then drag the yellow IN / OUT marker points to set that chapter’s limits

although you might add the movie many times, it will only be stored on the DVD once

OK HGH thanks for the prompt reply

I assume that this is done in the Vegas stage and if so I have inserted chapter markers in the first into each of my four movies and set the yellow in/out to cover the first movie (a light blue shade covering it) The query now is how would i transfer/enable this ‘piece’ onto a menu event so by pressing the first of four buttons, when the dvd is running, would go straight into this event and then finish.
I assume this would all be done in Vegas then when finished- rendered and simply burned onto dvd by DVDA.

    hope this is OK.

if there is anything else that you need to know that i may or may not have done please let give us know.

nope, do it in the DVD stage – that was my intention. could drop the markers to indicate the chapters in vegas itself, but all the rest in DVDA

    🙂

I assume you have one long movie, containing multiple chapters. each chapter is a separate piece you want to play, individually.
