    Hey guys,

I am cruising along at high edit speed, go to save the project and the menu bar is frozen.. Yikes, even the Apple wont click for a restart. But if I write this email, the Safari menu bar is fine. Click back on FCP7 and it is a locked rock.

Please tell me there is a key combo, that my fat fingers are inadvertently hitting.

    Latest Snow Leopard, FCP7 etc

    relaunch finder does not help

sounds like a locked application to me. You can check your autosave vault to see what the latest save is. Don’t know anything other than a force quit.

    Cmd+S doesn’t work, does it?

strange as it seems I’ve used LogMeIn.com to get onto an otherwise locked up machine. But I have it running in the background all the time. It lets me access the machine remotely, check/setup/restart renders. When FCP has locked up on occasion I was able to log in from the laptop sitting right next to the Mac pro and get at the commands. Unfortunately, it won’t work in this case if it’s not already installed and running.

Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.

But why does it do it now. I am not used to seeing this FCP menu bar lock up at all under the old Leopard and FCP 5.4. Yesterday it locked up four times in the afternoon. The key pad input to Motions tab screen position also locked up. IS this Menu bar lock up happening a lot in Snow Leopard -FCP7 ??

    Nate,
I’m going to take a ‘wild ass guess’ here.
My guess is that you upgraded either/both your OS and FCP, instead of doing a Clean Install.
