We are working with an Avid editor and want to media log b-roll for
him. We don’t have Avid Media log for OS X, and when we try to run
Avid Express DV on our G4s the system freezes.

I have done this with FCP. A guy from doculink once sent me an excel
spreadsheet and I was able to media log on that and then import it
into my FCP project to digitize. Does anyone know of a way I could do this with Avid?

    If not, any other suggestions??

    Open to ideas,

    Amanda

You can convert a FCP log list to avid quite fast, if you know the Avid specific stuff. Open an AVID ALE file and it’s quite clear.

Alternative, if you want to log fast and be able to have some decent comment fields, use my logger:

You can use the free demo to generate an Avid ALE to analyze, but i think you’ll get addicted to the speed of it 🙂
