  • Media Performance Warning message during clip import

    Hi,

Has anyone seen a message indicating “Media Performance Warning” when importing clips ? The error window says that the clip is not optimised for Final Cut Pro and recommend recapturing or use Media Manager to make new copies to improve performance.

However when we went ahead and import the clip, we can playback without any problem and this is a 30min 10bit Uncompressed SD clip. The clip is located in a SAN volume (SANmp-XServeRAID).

Yes. you probabli captured with an old codec. But if its looks well in an external monitor, go ahead.
Any way you should have a look at that. if you have used an old BM codec you there is a difference in the way that Gamma is managed. BM has released an script for FC adlust that gamma.
    salud,

Thanks for the replies…however the clips in the SAN volume were newly created and not imported from another drive. It was captured with FCP 5.0.4 and we noticed that it only happened when we imported from a SAN volume is mounted as Read-Only. If it is mounted as Read/Write, then the message does not show up.
