Media Pending FOREVER
Hey –
So, I’ve definitely read a couple of other threads concerning this topic, but the answer wasn’t entirely clear on what needs to be done.
I’m working on a pretty big project right now in Premiere CS4 (with 80-100gigs of footage), and recently I’ve been having a lot of problems with importing mpegs.
The problem is, I’ll import an MPEG2 file and it will remain in “Media Pending” indefinitely. An X sometimes appears at the bottom right corner that reads something like “file is busy, couldn’t be imported,” without a loading bar (although I am doing NOTHING at all with the file). Long story short, all of my imported files were previously a different format (sources from different cameras) but were converted to all be the same frame rate/frame size/format, and the program just seems to be picking out random files that it doesn’t want to open. I’ve sort of fixed the problem before by re-exporting the original file to the SAME exact format type and it doesn’t end up in pending hell, but I really don’t want to have to wait an extra hour just to export it again.
I’ve read that sometimes deleting the preview files can fix it? However, I don’t want to go deleting things prematurely at this point, because I’ve got hours of rendered frames and not enough time to deal with.
Ideas? Suggestions? Anything would be greatly appreciated at this point and time.
