I’m working on a project in 5.1.2 between two separate Macs. If I work on the
project on one computer, then bring it to the other (project file and media)
I get the “Media Offline” prompt in some of my clips, although in every other way
they appear to be there–they play perfectly in the sequence (no redline on
the file in the browser, etc to indicate media is missing) — but the timeline says
they’re not there. This is happening in two separate projects in which I
work at one workstation, then transport the project to another workstation
with the exact same configurations. I’m tempted to disregard the timeline
prompt but I instinctively want an explanation. What’s up?

BTW. I’m going between Macbook Pros and G5s, all with the updated software
    and systems.

Trash your thumbnail cache and the thumbnails will rebuild and the offline cache will go away, if it bugs you.

Well I’ll be, this has happened to me in every version of FCP, I’ve just ignored it. Thanks Jeremy.
