Media Offline and Peak Building
I find that I am needing to do a lot of off-line audio processing with my Israel footage–lots of background noise, especially wind when we were outdoors. I process audio noise reduction with Adobe Audition, which I have SVP 12 set up to automatically open when I click to open copy (of audio track) in audio editor. After I process and close the new file, SVP 12 automatically inserts the processed clip in the correct place in the timeline (it replaces the clip I was processing), but more often than not instead of rebuilding the audio peaks in the new audio clip SVP 12 just sits there with ALL of my timeline events noting media offline! However, SOMETIMES when Audition closed the peaks automatically would start processing. Totally by accident, I realized today that if I just switched to another running program and then back to SVP 12, the peaks then would start generating and I could move on. Prior to this I had to save the file, close it and reopen it. I do not know if anyone else ever has experienced this or if I am documenting a well-known occurrence, but I hope that this may help anyone else who has scratched their head on this one!
