We recently moved from one facility to another, and in doing so the Avids (we have 4) did not get connected to the network that Media Manager is on. As a result, each project that we have added has not been logged into Media Manager. Now our Unity is full and we cannot see the media in the Media Manager html interface to delete it. Even changing settings to be able to delete media directly from the Avid bins doesn’t work… There is an error message relating to Media Manager when we try and the media remains.
We have tried the “Re-sync” command under “Administration” in Media Manager and it crunches a way for a while, but none of the projects we added since the move show up.

Is there some way to make Media Manager add the projects?

The Re-sync command will look for projects on Unity and compare to those that Media Manager is aware of. Anything else will appear in the Catalogs section under Dissasociated Media. This is because Media Manager is unaware of the project that the media should belong to. This is where you should find your missing media.

Open two copies of Media Manager. In one select the Projects tab and add the exact names of the projects as they were named from your Avid edit boxes. In the other, select the clips that relate to each project (one project at a time) and drag them to the opened project in the other copy of Media Manager. This should copy your media into the correct project and Media Manager will now be aware of it.

One possible problem you may encounter is I believe the media will be copied rather than moved and if your Unity is full, that’s a problem.

What was the error message you mentioned?

    Richard.
