Media Manager – should i risk trying it?
I have managed to go for 14 months on FCP without resorting to Media Manager, and having read so many complaints about it has got me nervous about using it.
BUT….my raid is now getting fuller and its time i archived my older commercials.
I want to consolidate projects and get rid of the unused trash, save things to easily backed folders and all that.
Is MM the only way? I realise icould go through each project manually and remove files but theres always the risk you will delete something important…..
so my question is how do you tackle this area? any tips or tricks you’d care to share?

MM is no risk as long as you use it properly.
use COPY mode to make a trimmed COPY of your used media in a new project
verify it manualy,
correct any errors (if there are any)
delete the original.DONT use “Use Existing” mode.
that’s where the risks lie, as you have no opertunity to verify and correct errors.nick

This really made me chuckle. I have visions of a junk cupboard that’s dark and full of spiders, and you don’t really want to go in ther but you know you have to sometime…
You’re not alone! Maybe we should start a MM support group!
