Media Manager recompress failed error code 49
I’m working on a large project that was on Avid. I used Automatic Duck to get everything into Final Cut. Automatic Duck creates .MOV wrapper files to get FCP to read the Avid .MXF files.
Wes at Autoduck recommended I use Media Manager to recompress the project, that way FCP isn’t relying on the .MOV wrapper files and is instead referencing actual .MOV files.
Everytime I try using Media Manager (which I have used successfully many times with other projects, usually using the copy fuctions instead of recompress), I get errors and about 1/3 of my project shows up offline.
A screen shot of the error is below. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Might try putting that errant file into compressor and doing the decompression there.

Thanks Jerry, but it’s multiple files and if I put the MOV wrapper file, is Compressor going to understand that it’s referencing an MXF file?

If FCP sees it as a QT movie, so will Compressor.
Something else… rebuild that single file from MXF again to QT wrapper, might be corrupt or something, and that could fix it.

Trying the Compressor solution. Looking good so far.
As far as rebuilding, the AAF files that I Autoduck’ed to FCP are pretty substantial sequences and I don’t know that there’s a way to rebuild specific files.

You’d have to ask Wes at Autoduck if there’s a way to just process a few clips…
