    Hi CC FCP,

when I media manage 1920×1080 24p to ntsc 24p it letterboxes it! why does it do that?

there seems to be no way to tell it to be anamorphic

    thanks pete

    Hi Peter,
Your post is a bit confusing.
You talk about 1920×1080 to NTSC and to 720.
I made a try compressing some 1920×1080 with Media Manager and no problem to get the file 16×9.
I have compressed to PAL (I’m in PAL-land) and to 720p25.
If you want to compress to NTSC Anamorphic, you need to select one of the Anamorphic presets.

yes it is strange that the preset setting letterboxes the picture. But now if i make a custom setting i can make it anamorphic. Unfortunately there is no way to store the custom setting

    Hi Peter,
In the MM you can scroll down the list of the presets and you will find “Custom”.
This or you duplicate a Sequence preset and customize it.
This preset will show up as an option in MM.
