  • Media Manager for Offline to Online: “ASSEMBLE jo” folders?

Anybody know what “ASSEMBLE jo” sequences are?

Using the Media Manager to “create offline” at the desired online sequence preset, FCP creates a new project with the new desired sequence— with all the clips in the timeline whited out offline and in need of recapture. All as expected.

In the process, AS WELL, however, a slew of sequences are ALSO created, called “ASSEMBLE jo” sequences, and they’ve got a ton of footage in their distinct timelines. And for the life of me, I can’t find any documentation whatsoever, ANYWHERE, describing what the heck these “ASSEMBLE jo” sequences are, why they were created, and why bits and pieces of them show up as nested sequences in the main timeline that I’m attempting to online.

During this onlining process, FCP will prompt that in order to capture a 1 or 2 second clip in the timeline, it’s necessary to capture a 25 minute Master Clip—- when ALL I want is the 3 seconds… Any clues as to whether this “Assemble jo” fiasco has anything to do with that?
