I appreciate the help on this challenge I’m having:

PPro2… I edited a piece and used some material from an external hard drive. Now I want to get all the material in the same drive/directory. I have copied the video files to the new directory; go into the project and take the particular scene “offline”… then right-clic and click “link media”. When I point to the new location, I always get a “fatal error and PPro has to shut down.”

I have a mix of formats (.avi and .mov). Is there a better way? Any help would be appreciated.

The better way would have been to use the Project Manager to gather all of your material into a single directory structure.

Even so, you should not be crashing. You may have to delete your preferences.

Well… I’ve gotten back to trying to solve this thing… I’ve gone through Project Manager and made sure all files were in the new location. I’ve deleted the preferences file, but still get the “fatal error” crash and burn.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
