  • Media I consolidated onto a new drive is appearing as offline

    Hi –
I’m working on Avid 6.5.4 on Mac OS 10.10.5. I’ve been trying to pass a little project off to another editor and it’s not been working very well.

I opened the project, opened media tool, selected all the media from my drive and consolidated to the new drive. Selecting relink master clip to consolidated media. But when I take the original drive offline and reopen the project with new drive online, it still says that several clips are offline. What am I doing wrong? My Avid Media Files folder is in the drive’s root and the MXF folders are just 1 and 2. Could it have anything to do with the fact that several of the clips are grouped?

One other weird thing happened while passing this project on – I had bins organized into folders. I copied the project in its entirety to another drive for this new editor. But when he opens it, some of the bins inside the folders are missing. How did that happen? I was able to just email him those couple of bins, so it was no big deal, but I found it strange.

    Thanks for any help.
