I am just wondering if anyone has had the same issue I seem to have encountered.

The company I work for delivers video in flash format. The last set of videos were encoded with media encoder cs5.5. We had custom settings for these videos and everything worked out fine.

Over the summer we upgraded to CS6. I re-plugged in the settings from cs5,5. Due to a rather wonky workflow, the videos were edited in FCP. I then exported ProRes masters of each video.

I brought them into Media Encoder cs6 and used my preset. Rendered and away we went

Things were fine. Until today. I recieve an email saying that the bitrates are different from the first set of videos. Impossible I think, my preset was exactly the same. I double check everything, and low and behold, yes, the videos are twice the file size as the first set….

So I start running tests. Finally I re-encode a clip using my old Media Encoder CS5.5 and all is fine. Video looks great the file size is correct…

WTF. I can’t wait to test this somewhere else, but, wow. This is MESSED UP.
