    Anyone had this problem?

A producer ingested some footage at DV codec standard settings. Burnt the files to a hard drive and brought to my suite. I copied them and imported into a FCP project. All specs seem to match but there’s some underlying linkage problem. For example I mark a clip drag to a sequence with no problem, but if I try to match-frame, freeze frame, trim, or apply certain effects, the frame in the viewer changes to another point in the clip as if there’s a timecode issue or media disconnect. It’s becoming VERY frustrating because it changes whenever clips are applies (clip plays fine, but if I apply a dissolve, the dissolve frames ‘pop’ to another point in the clip.

Issue with the capture? Trick to get the media working correctly? Thanks for any help.

That is such wacky behavior that it can only (well probably only) be one of or both of the following: 1) prefs corrupted 2) permissions corrupted.

So, trash your prefs., then run the disk utility and fix permissions on all hard drives.

    Next, report back…

    Good luck,
    David
