Media Composer Adrenaline or Newscutter Adrenaline?
Cows and Cowettes…
The Situation:
At work we have three editing systems, two of which are about to be chucked out the door and replaced. I use an Avid Xpress V5.xx (I can’t remember the exact version and am not at work). We also have a Media 100 (almost dead and out the door) and a LightWorks (the main machine to be replaced). We are going with an Avid but don’t know if we should go with a Media Composer Adrenaline or Newscutter Adrenaline. We’re a broadcast station, but this machine with be for our commercial production suite–primarily :10, :15, :30, :60 commercials and long form programs (from 10 minute videos to half hour programs). Heavy use of Photoshop and After Effects included.I have searched the Avid website, the Avid Forums, the Cow Forums, and the rest of the internet and I can’t seem to find a good comparison chart outlining the differences between the MC Adrenaline and Newscutter Adrenaline. It seems like the Newscutter is essentially the same as the MC, but without the film options. My questions to you…
What is the main difference between the two?
Is one system more stable than another?
Will our Avid Xpress V5.xx play nice with a new MC Adrenaline or Newscutter (that is, can we easily transfer projects and files back and forth, etc…)?
Based on your experiences, do you suggest one product over the other? (Feel free to be as biased as you want…but this system must be PC based–getting a MAC isn’t an option)Thank you in advance, I’m hoping you can help me out with this.
Michael.
