Media Composer 8 exports need to be converted then when they are they are the wrong aspect ratio
Anyone heard of this export issue? I’ve spent several hours trying different export settings.
That’s before being converted. When you open it in quicktime it forces a converting…
…after which it comes out a wrong aspect ratio.Export Settings:
Send to QT Movie
QuickTime Movie
Same as Source
Video and Audio
RGB
16:9I’ve also Custom Settings as H264 and Apple ProRes.
Footage is 16:9 720p MXF files, from a p2 card on a HVX200.
The AVID project format is:
720p / 23.976
YCbCr 709
1280×720 -

That’s the OS doing the converting…because 10.9 and 10.10 cannot play back DVCPRO HD QT files…Only H.264 and ProRes…those it’ll open without converting. Anything else, it converts JUST to play it back. Annoying, yes.
So don’t use QT to convert…use COmpressor or other compression software
