Media 100 HD crashes and freezes system
O.K. My main Media 100 has an annoying issue I’ve let go for too long. Once or twice a day when time I start it it will freeze the system. Right at the first sign of the Blue loading line in the Media 100 window, it freezes the computer. Pointer won’t move, fans kick up on high. I have to hold the power button to restart. It might do it first thing in the morning when no other apps have been opened, or it might do it late, with 3 other things running. Any ideas?
Max osx 10.4.10 Dual 2.7 with 4gb ram

I suspect you have a hardware problem, but not necessarily the HDx card. I once had those symptoms from a bad RAM module. You should run the HDx diagnostics but be suspicious of the rest of the hardware.
