Media 100 12.0.2 Released
Media 100 has posted Media 100 v 12.0.2. Customers who have purchased Media 100 version 12 and/or 12.0.1 can download and install version 12.0.2 and should not have to reenter their system key. For hardware based customers there are two installers, a patch updater and a full install. Users can choose which installer works for them. For Media 100 Producer and Producer Suite customers, there is only a full install. Customers who have purchased Media 100 Producer and Producer Suite version 12.0 and 12.0.1 will not need to re-enter their unlock code.

It’s important to note that this release does not work with Apple Computer’s Leopard OS or QuickTime 7.3. Media 100 will release a statement about these items in the coming days.

Well I am impressed with you Dave on how you respond to customers and how the company is updating the software and fixing bugs.

I noticed that the 12.0.2 updater link is not active this morning; although the full verson is accessible. Any estimates on when XDCAM HD can be ingested directly into HDe?
I guess Leopard compatibility is the primary focus right now.

Couple of answers…
The updater link is now fixed. I typed a “u” instead of a “U”. Sorry about that.
Our next priority is Leopard, we hear you about XDCAM. We’re talking and planning but no news yet. We need support from Sony and that takes time.
QuickTime 7.3- We’ve had 1 report of it not working. We’ll test 7.3 with Leopard first, then with 11.6. I have no date on the Leopard release, we have some application items to fix and we are working AJA on a new OEM driver. We’re not expecting this to be a major engineering effort, so it shouldn’t take too long to release.

Is there a 12.0.2 release for Producer also? If so, I can’t find any link to it.

David C, I know I have been enquiring elsewhere about this but am still unclear whether you will be thinking about XDCAM for the HDx versions of Media 100 as well as the new AJA. Those of us who only recently upgraded to the Mac G5 (pre Intel) really don’t want to change again now and so far you have looked after the HDx customers quite well. By the way, anyone know how the new XDCAM Ex media differs from the XDCAM as far as ingesting into edit systems goes?

I think it would probably be done the way P2 was; there is nothing specific to the HDx board that relates to attaching a P2 drive, even Producer can do it with no hardware at all.
