I don’t know why this is happening. I transcoded mt2 files from the HMC 150 with the AVCHD transcoder. Wheb I import some of the p2 files into avid it cuts the clips off before the end. Almost like I had stopped recording at that moment but I know that there is more footage. I can play the entire files fine on my computer in the m2t format. But for some reason certain files just won’t play full through in avid after I import them as p2s. PLEASE HELP! I’m on a deadline. Thanks so much!

To clarify, what I mean by it won’t play the whole clip is that the clip stops/ends as if that is all there is but I know the actual clip is longer. For instance, it’s like I only recorded 2 minutes when the clip is actually 4 minutes.

The HMC-150 isn’t a P2 camera. it doesn’t record in the P2 formats of DVCPRO HD nor AVCINTRA. It records AVCHD…different. So you can’t import as P2.

What are you transcoding with? I was always curious how Avid dealt with AVCHD. Because you need to get out of that MTS and into a format that either Avid MC recognizes and can transcode, or import directly.

    Hi Shane,

Thank you for your reply. As I stated in the original post I transcoded the AVCHD files with the MainConcept Transcoder that Panasonic give you on its website. That transcoder turns the AVCHD files into DVCPRO files which have to be imported into Avid as virtual P2’s. The problem I am having is that once imported some of the virtual P2’s do not play in their entirety. I was just wondering what might be the cause of that? I have never had that problem before.
