Is there anyone out there using an AVID Media Composer Adrenaline on a G5 System?

Our edit suite is due for an upgrade (overhaul) from a PC based AVID Meridian System.
I am partial to the MAC OS, and its reliability and ease of use, and would like to get a
system that could be AVID based, but also have Apple FCS and Adobe PS installed so
that it could handle anything that comes our way.

I have heard mixed responses to AVID staying up to date on Mac, and the availability of
HD on a Mac system. Some say that HD will be available in June, others say not until the
arrival of Intel “PowerMacs”. This sounds weird to me, shouldn’t HD editing already be available
    for MC Adrenaline?

I would like for our facility to be able to implement a QuadG5/AVID Adrenaline system this summer,
then upgrade to Intel “PowerMac” and update software after about 3 years. I just want to be
sure that the AVID Software is going to run well on this system.

Any help, or direction to where I can attain more information is greatly appreciated!

    Sincerely,

avid has recently said that they are going to become within feature parity between Mac and PC. Xpress Pro with with version 5.5 is in sync this June. And the new Media Composer software v2.5 is also in sync. That software should be available in June. There are new price points for you to play with as well. You can buy just the Media Composer software for $4,999.00 now. You can run it just like that, or add hardware depending on what you wish to ingest. This new Media Composer works with the existing analog Mojo or the new Mojo SDI for SD. You can also add either Adrenaline, or Adrenaline with DNxcel.

Call you sales rep, and get more detail on schedule and price points. You might be able to get what you want without going all the way up to Adrenaline right away.
