MC 8.4/Sony BetaMax/Canopus ADVC-300 Problem
I’m trying to digitize some old BetaMax tapes for a Doc I’m working on. I can’t get this to work correctly. I’m using RCA’s from the BetaMax to the Canopus ADVC300. Audio and Video OUT from the BetaMax to Audio and Video IN on the Canopus, then Firewire 400 on the back of the Canopus box to Firewire 800 (Black IEEE 1394 Firewire 800 to Firewire 400 Cable, 9 Pin/6 Pin) to the back on my iMac. What am I doing wrong?

First off…you need to unselect TC. No TC will be available via that device.
Second…it looks like the resolution you chose is J2K 1080….the rest is covered. That’s wrong. DV is SD…720×480.
