I have rently shot footage from a Sony F3 to an AJA KiPro Mini. Settings 1080 23.798P. AJA exports out Pro Res 422 HQ files which import effortlessly into my 1080P 23.798 project. Everything is in sync on the timeline….playback is fine. Export QT Ref, audio is out of snyc on the desktop….drag into Sorenson 6.5 and export mpeg4….out of sync. Try the same process exporting a QT H264 file directly out of Avid…..audio again out of sync (approximately 2-3 frames off) Tried every combination of export settings….no change. Does anyone have any ideas???? I am at a total loss!

btw. HP Z800 12 gigs of ram, matrox mini for the out bound hmdi, Avid MC 5.5.3, most up to date drivers for the certified video card, local storage

Transcode the sequence to DNxHD…then do the export? I know there are still a few hiccups in working with footage accessed via AMA. Transcode when possible.

I transcoded the pro res footage on the way in to DnxHD 175 before working with it on the timelime. Should I transcode finished sequence again?

How are you determining the audio is out of sync?

Are you sure this isn’t an audio monitoring issue?

Are you listening to the audio coming out of the Matrox, but looking at video on the desktop?

Can you listen to the audio straight out of the computer instead?

I say this because everything plays in sync in the timeline (presumably through the matrox).

yes I thought of that also, but after I run through Sorenson, and view on multiple other computers….still out of snyc
