  MBP with SDD for FCP?

  all considerations of cost aside (hey i ‘m allowed to dream) – has anyone tried using a new MBP 17″ with the 500gb SDD running FCS2 ?

  I know perceived wisdom says never record video to your system drive, but i wondered if anyone had tried doing exactly that using the new solid state drives?

  I occasionally have to edit away from base, and it entails carrying extra fw hard drives and psu’s etc through airports and xray scanners.
  The location i visit has its own AJA boxes i can use to capture, so that is not a problem.

  How feasible is this as a way of working?
  any thoughts or experiences?
