    Hello everyone.
Just bought a MBP retina pre loaded with Lion, not upgraded to Mountain Lion yet. I have FCP7 (with a ton of plug-ins and software) installed in my 2009 MBP running OS 10.5.8. Is it a good idea to back up the older MBP onto an external HD and use migration assistant to copy the contents onto the retina MBP? Or, is it better to reinstall ALL the software/plug-ins manually (which would take a really loooong time)? Thanks in advance.

I always do a clean install on production machines. Leaves no room for error and on a work machine…
