    Hey guys!

    Just wondering:

the 30 inch display has an maximum / optimum rez of 2560 – or something?

How will the MBP 17 – look on it? ( With the 1920 max rez that the MBP has )

I have experienced, in PC world, that running a different rez than the optimum will make the display not 100 percent sharp….

Does anyone here run MBP 17 and the 30 display?
If so – please share your thoughts on it

[Becker] “I have experienced, in PC world, that running a different rez than the optimum will make the display not 100 percent sharp….”

Anything less than full resolution will not be as sharp as it could be. Just ran into a situation with a client I assist with tech support where their 30″ Dell monitor looked awful on their new Mac Pro. Turns out they were in the wrong DVI connection and once we switched it, it went to full resolution and looked sharp as the dickens.

    Walter,
After seeing Becker’s Norse tag, I laughed out loud when I saw your reply. I imagine an American reading a Norwegian saying, like,
“to be in the middle of the butter melting in the porridge”

P.S. What *is* the dickens, and how sharp can it possibly be? Time to Google. 🙂

You can use the 30″ monitor on that compter.

The main screen and the external screen are different resolutions, but they don’t have to match. You can set them each to their own, optimal resolution.
