“Some Mac Pro users have noticed that after updating their systems to OS X 10.9.3, their systems are showing significant graphical artifacts that can impact their work in video editing software packages, especially when exporting video files.

For affected systems, in some cases pink and green lines may be embedded in exported video files, and in other cases the exporting process may stall out and not complete properly. Either way, this issue appears to be a compatibility problem with the drivers for the AMD video chipset in the new Mac Pro, and various popular video editing software packages.

This issue is being looked into by Apple engineers, so a fix may be supplied soon in a supplemental update to OS X 10.9.3. Meanwhile, there are several things you can do to work around this problem.”

Sounds like “click bait” to me. Is anyone here seeing this?

There’s a thread on this that I started in the Premiere Pro forum. Apparently 10.9.3 causes render issues with Adobe apps and Resolve when GPU accelerated rendering is used. It appears to be tied to the D500 and D700 GPUs on the new Mac Pros.

While true, this affects the new Mac Pros. These are just now shipping, so hard to say which OS comes installed. You might not have a choice.

This is what I was referring to. This line suggest the users DID have a choice!

I can’t verify this, but someone has also posted on Apple forums that this is affecting his older MacPro (2008). FWIW, I have a 2008 and a new MacPro, but I haven’t seen it in FCP X. Can’t speak to Resolve or Premiere…

Correct. But, if you buy a new Mac Pro today and get it in 2 weeks, what OS will be installed now that 10.9.3 is out? And will this issue be solved by then? That was my point.

Also note, Nvidia released drivers and Cuda for 10.9.3 yesterday.

That’s a buyer awareness issue. What you do then is not use the new box until the issue is fixed. Tough to do, but solves the problem.
