    hello,

This is my first post here but i’ve been consulting this great website for some years.
Right now i’m compositing my animation and i’m looking for an effect that would simplify the matte outline of an animation. Preferably into a more geometric matte.

I tried simple and matte choker but they always smooth out my matte which is the opposite of what i want.

    thanks for looking,

    W

How about using the auto trace function on the layers’ alpha channel, with roundness set to 0%. That might work. It’s found under the layer menu. You can then expand it with the simple choker.

Thanks for your suggestion. The trace definitely opens some new options. Ican`t get it to give me a simplified geometrical matte though.

    thx,
    W
