    Does the MXO2 have HD component in – out / or is it SD???

    Neato!

    if it had fw 800 ingest and pro res capture accelaration
    like the AJA I/O HD, I’d buy it instead.

    maybe next year 😉

    Ah, but it can capture uncompressed HD…the I/O cannot…because it connects via PCIe and Express34. (Uncompressed 8-bit via a laptop)

    But true, without the onboard ProRes encoder you need a beefy machine to do the transcoding, and the current MacBook Pros cannot do that without help.

    AND…according to MAtrox this has a built in SD Blackburst AND Tri-level sync generator. Built in. Apparently the MXO has this built in too. Who knew?

    All this is remains to be seen, as it is still being worked on and is due out in July. The proof is in the pudding…when we get it into our hands and see it for ourselves.
