Materials not Rendering
Would greatly appreciate any advice on this:
Attached C4D Lite R21 file, I’ve only just started learning and am deeply confused why this particular tutorial has thrown me a “materials not rendering” bone.

I have done other tuts, in C4D Lite R21, without this problem. Literally every other material has rendered exactly as expected, hard or soft shading. I’ve been more or less blindly tinkering with render settings trying to get to the bottom of it and this glossy material under two infinite lights (one key one fill) comes out either as un-materialed gray, or slightly luminous colours but un-glossy.
attached C4D file here if anyone can have a look. I already tried a forced reset of all preferences but that didn’t effect render settings and I’m out of ideas what could possibly be causing this.

What seems to be messing up the rendering is having “Material Override” enabled in the Render Settings without any Custom Material entered (which begs the question, Why are you using it?). Unchecking that box alone didn’t seem to work for me until I also removed and reapplied all the materials.
