Matching indoor audio to outdoor?
Posted by Zach St Cin on October 31, 2025 at 2:33 amWhat way(s) can I make an indoor audio from one clip match to an outdoor clip? Trying to make the indoor clip sound like it is outside to match the other clip. Is there a shortcut to it?

October 31, 2025 at 3:01 amHey Zach,
First off, you are unlikely to fix audio as well in After Effects, than what you can do in PPro, Audition or third party like ProTools or similar.
You could use a plug-in like izotope Ambience Match in RX11 (I am a fan), but comes with a price tag:
https://www.izotope.com/en/products/rx/features/ambience-match.htmlAlternatively, if you have clean sound, head over to PPro and split out the voice from the background noise (isolate voice), then underlay it with the clean sound of the outdoor background.
If you don’t have clean sound, split the background noise from the outdoor clip, and underlay that under the indoor clean sound.
You will still need to “play” around with EQ on the voice and/or outdoor sound (again, might need a VST plug-in for that).
Hope this helps?

October 31, 2025 at 6:54 amyo Zach! After Effects has some secret effects to achieve what you want in a simple way!
I-m gonna append a tutorial for you (go exactly to 3:36 for the effect you need, or watch the whole thing in case), this is for you, no additional plugins needed, hope that helps! 🔥
