  • Matching Frame with selected clip’s IN and OUT points

Posted by Rosie Walunas on August 13, 2012 at 2:37 am

Transferring from FCP to Avid, apologies if this question has an obvious answer.

When matching frame of a clip in my Timeline, I would like that clip’s IN and OUT point to appear in the Source monitor (as it does in FCP).

    Is this possible and how?

    Thank you kindly!

on windows its alt matchframe, for the clip to retain its last set of in and outpoints.

Mac, not sure…maybe alt, maybe command?

Mark clip in timeline, go to IN point, matchframe – clip is loaded into source window with matchframe IN point set, select go to out point in source window and manually “mark” out point. The clip in source window now matches IN and OUT to that of marked clip in sequence.

As stated above, Avid only “matchframes” the current frame in the sequence (the frame where the blue line is parked)

Option + match frame button retains in/out points.

I’ve tried all these commands – option + match frame button, and I’m only just getting a regular match frame result in the Source monitor. What could I be doing wrong?

    Thanks.
