  • Match frame in Multigroup matches back to wrong timecode

Just did a preliminary search on this problem. All I can find is about multigroups going offline and then being relinked that causes this problem.

In my case there was never a multigroup that went offline. An editor just brought to my attention that one of their sequences seems to be corrupt. As if one keystroke along the way has caused the group or sequence to go bad.

Any thoughts or ideas about this bug? Quick fixes (ha!)?

    Hey Jon,

I’ve come across this same issue, wanted to know if you found a solution for it or if it caused any issues when trying to online or finish the job?

    Thanks

a little more information might be helpful.

Type of footage (red can have multiple timecodes inside some programs)

Was the footage linked, transcoded, relinked to original and now the match frames aren’t working?

Is there duplicate file names/locations that could be buggering things up?

are all the clips in the multigroup showing wrong timecode..or just one of them?
(if so, what is different from a technical standpoint about that clip?)

If you reveal source file in Avid, does it point to the correct file?

If you isolate that file, into an AvidMediaFiles/mxf/2 folder, and bring in the database, does it show incorrect timecode?

Is there anyway the timecode is correct, but the original links were screwed with and that was the incorrect timecode?

How were the multigroups created? Auto sync, inpoint?

    Glenn
