Need to know more about your system.
What kind of Beta machine, how is it connected to your system, are you doing print to video, edit to tape? We can help you if we know these things.
Have a wonderful day.

I’m not sure if the Io can do an edit to tape, but if it can, that’s what you should try. I do this all the time and it only took me a day or so to get it all sorted out. You have to black your tapes with timecode first, say starting at 00:58:20:00. This striping will work well for a timeline starting at 00:58:30:00.
This is the starting timecode you would type into the edit to tape window. Then you would drag your sequence into the edit to tape window with your deck set on remote and if the Io can do it, you’d get a prompt to let it rip.
BTW, I believe the sync problem you’re seeing is a normal thing with an Io, I don’t think your tape would be out of sync.
Have a wonderful day.

March 2, 2006 at 3:58 pmWe have been doing “edit to tape” for 18months now, using AJA IO and FCP, with no problems at all. Make sure you have the latest drivers from AJA. You can assemble to tape, you just need to stripe the begninng of the beta tape. With insert you have to stripe the whole tape. Print to Video is pretty pointless really. You might as well just connect the deck and press play. The only accurate sync you will get is the edit to tape.
