Exported a .mov out of FCPX to use in AE I have listen to the file and the audio is perfectly OK. After import into AE (CS5) when playing back the audio is distorted. I checked the audio waveform and the visual distortion is very visible aswell and audible. Its akin to harsh white noise. Any ideas what is going on, this has happened a couple of times now. To remedy I have exported out of FCPX again with the same file name and ‘replaced’ the footage and it seems to work ok after a second time. Something is not right though.

From your description it is not clear if it is an FCPX or an AE issue. Have you tried QT Player or an audio app to check the original export from FCPX?

    Cheers
