March 24, 2013 at 3:52 pmMy thoughts are that the install of the build or version requires a deletion of that Folder.
No, it doesn’t. An install program makes sure that the required folders are present, but it doesn’t do any housekeeping. Most users just install the program once.

I got this advice from jr. It worked for me so I am passing it along. On the main Vegas Pro Forum, SCS are asking us to delete the Thumbnails. Now, and as you say, this may not be the “expected” behaviour for a once only install, but as we are getting more “Builds” more regularly, then maybe we have stepped-over from the initial Install criteria, and move up to Builds being a further “initial” install.
Steve, please explain.
Cheers

March 24, 2013 at 9:06 pmNotice that I didn’t specifically say Vegas, because I don’t have exposure to the internals of the program. But before “retirement” I spent years as a software engineer and later as a PC tech support manager. The only time we would put any file maintenance into the install program is when there was a known conflict. Which was pretty rare. Why should we when the vast base of our users never experienced any install or upgrade problems?

March 25, 2013 at 1:32 pmWell, I know what to say…
Since i followed this advice Vegas12Pro has not cashed a single time. I’m blowing through my project now. If this is the solitary problem that has plagued my (and maybe thousands or other’s) Vegas… it should be address somehow by Sony. Anyway, in the end, i’ll be cleaning that folder from time to time until I hear otherwise. Thanks guys
Jack
