Hey everyone, ive messed up something, and i dunno how to fix it.

When creating a solid, you could double click on the ellipse tool, and it would created ann ellipse mask for you…you could click and drag the points to adjust it etc.

Now…it still creates the mask….but i can change the points…unless i double click on the layer….and edit in the actual layer window, rather than the composition window.

The pen tool works fine for creating masks correctly…but it seems like the ellipse took, and other tools…are…possible defaulting to the shape creation? I saw there is a toggle to Create Shapes, and create masks…but i cant seem to switch it.

Any ideas? Please let me know if your totallt lost.

    Thanks!

Yea it’s one of the annoying additions in CS3. You have to make sure your solid is selected before you double click on the tool, otherwise it’ll make a new “shape” layer, which you know is different from a mask. Very annoying, I often do a double take when I see those blue outlines (shape) and not the default yellow (mask).
