  • Masks inside composition on 3D layer – masks stays 2D?

Posted by Frank Peeters on July 25, 2010 at 9:57 am

    Hi there,

Newbie here. I create a composition, which uses shapes and masks – I make the layers 3D. Now I put this composition into the main composition, turn on the 3D for that layer, and start rotating. The masks in the inserted composition seem to stay in 2D while the rest is being rotated in 3D, no problem at all. Why is that? What setting do I forget?

    Greets,
    Frank

I just created a 3D layer in AE applied a mask and rotated it and the mask rotated in 3D and moved properly in Z space.

Is that the workflow you used? Or did you create your masks another way?
