Masking Parameters?
At the end of my clip i’d like to have it end with a heart-shaped mask. Like the viewable area on the clip will diminish in a heart shape.
I have one solid layer that’s a heart shaped mask. I have another layer that’s a full black solid. I’m thinking that I’ll need to set my layer parameters so that the heart layer is an ‘alpha’ for the black solid layer. What “Mode” parameters should my 2 layers be set at?

Hi Phillr,
Simplify the whole thing. Draw a heart shape with your pentool right on your clip, feather the mask to taste to get a smooth look then animate the mask expansion parameter from out of comp view to what your final frame should look like.

If I understand your question correctly. I don’t think you need all those solid layers, just put the “one solid layer that’s a heart shaped mask” above the clip (video, still, whatever you’re viewing), then animate the Mask Shape twirl down the Mask, set a keyframe, double click a vertex then you get a bounding box, make it bigger than the layer (or however big you want it to start), go down the timeline double click again and squeeze that bounding box down to nothing. You should have you clip go from full view to heart shaped, with the heart shaped clip shrinking to a full black screen at the end.
