Masking and Color Correction
Posted by Warren Gentry on December 16, 2005 at 9:07 amIs it possible to color-correct only a specifc portion of the frame in FCP, or for that matter mask any filter effect such as blur, glow, etc.? Thanks for any advice.

December 16, 2005 at 2:51 pmLimit Effect in the Color Corrector allows to alter by Color, luma, saturation. You can also use Garbage Matte or any other Matte.
For Blur, Glow etc. actually Boris Continuume Complete filter set does this within its filters. It has a Pixel Chooser function which allows you to select what parts of the image will be affected. You can of course do this with Mattes too.
I think you really need to read the FCP manual about Matte Filters etc. and maybe Kevin Monahan’s book “Motion Graphics and Effects for Final Cut Pro.”

You also may want to look at Silhouette Roto which lets you do full rotoscoping right inside FCP. http://www.silhouettefx.com
Have a wonderful day.
