  • Mask out a solid layer w/ CC Star Burst

I am just learning after effects I have a feeling this is a really easy fix, but I can’t figure it out for the life of me. I am adding stars to the sky using CC Star Burst on a white solid. I need to mask out some of the stars when a few people walk across the frame. Whenever I use the pen tool to attempt to mask the stars, nothing happens. It stays exactly the same with no mask. What am I doing wrong!?

    Hi there.

Try precomposing the solid that has the stars(and choose move all attributes into the new composition) before masking it.

    Shall do the trick.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers.

    adriano.
